Choose the layout around your guests
Look at the cabin plan, not just the yacht’s overall length. Check whether beds convert, which bathrooms are private and how guests move between indoor seating, dining and the swim platform. For a day trip, shade and a comfortable place for everyone to sit may matter more than extra sleeping cabins.
Understand crew and onboard service
Ask which crew members are included and what service they provide. A captain, chef and additional crew are different roles; a “crewed” description does not tell you the whole arrangement. Mention dining preferences and special occasions before a quote is prepared, so provisions and staffing can be discussed together.
Make cruising time part of the quote
Request a route with an estimate of time underway and the fuel assumptions behind it. A proposal based on a relaxed local outing may not cover the same costs as one with several longer passages. Ask how itinerary changes are approved and charged, and what happens if the captain changes plans for conditions.
Compare complete proposals
Put the vessel rate beside crew, fuel, provisioning, berthing, taxes and transfers. Ask whether any expenses are estimated, prepaid as an allowance or charged separately. Before paying, obtain current photographs and specifications for the actual yacht named in your contract.
